Bloom Impact

At ImpAct we strive to empower women to gain financial independence, overall health and well-being, self sufficiency and equality.
Women in India face many disadvantages. The dowry system is a social practice that perpetuates the oppression, torture, and sometimes, murder of women in India. The practice of dowry is an expected part of marriage in cultures where arranged marriages are the norm. Violence can occur when the dowry or bride-price is deemed unsatisfactory by the recipient. In India, in spite of laws prohibiting the practice, not much has changed over the last 30 years.
At ImpAct we are reaching a slum in Jaipur to promote women empowerment. The women that reside here are from West Bengal and Biher. With the dream of a better life for their children, they have migrated to Jaipur. With no education, and the social inequality they face due to India's rife social hierarchy system, the reality is that their opportunities are slim.

Give a Helping Hand

What are we doing to help abolish inequality ?

At ImpAct we run workshops with volunteers from around the world teaching women craft skills (such as sewing bags and making soaps). This creates an opportunity for groups of women to work together and start a business.

We also run Self Development workshops. Volunteers mentor the women on topics such as critical thinking and problem solving, leadership skills, communication skills, time management and health and fitness.

We strive to continue holding workshops on craft works and empowerment to encourage self worth and financial independence for the women residing in the Jaipur slum and continue in the fight against gender discrimination.
